When people thing ‘police’ patrolling is generally what comes to mind. It’s true, it is the backbone of policing, but it’s also an incredibly diverse, active, and exciting job. Each day puts officers in the heart of the community working with the diverse group of people who make up Lake Stevens.
What’s it like ‘on patrol?’
A big part is responding to 9-1-1 calls ranging from the mundane to the truly extraordinary. No two calls – or two days – are the same. Patrol officers respond to incidents as they see them occurring, as well. When not responding to calls or providing backup to other officers, patrol officers get to know their assigned areas and work proactively to combat ongoing crimes and hazards.
Sounds like a lot, doesn’t it? It is! But they are well equipped and trained, every day. They have extensive training in a variety of areas before they even step into a patrol position, and are in constant training throughout their careers.
Patrol work isn’t what the media makes it out to be. It’s about supporting and building up the community. It’s not glamourous but it is dangerous and every day; your Lake Stevens patrol officers are proud to serve you and will do what it takes to ensure your safety.
