Ballot Measure for an Advisory Vote on a Fireworks Ban

On June 22, 2021, the Lake Stevens City Council authorized a ballot measure for an Advisory Vote on a Fireworks Ban to be placed on the November 2, 2021 primary ballot. The ballot title would officially read as follows:

Should the possession, sale, and discharge of consumer fireworks be made illegal within the city limits of the city of Lake Stevens?

The City is seeking members of committees to write the Pro and Con statements for the voters' pamphlet. Members should be available to work together to draft these statements. 

  • Based on deadlines set by the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office, the names of each committee member must be submitted to the County by August 3.  
  • Statements are due by August 12. 
  • Pro/con rebuttals are due August 17. Each committee can consist of 3 members but can also ask the advice of other individuals.
