The Parks and Recreation Department has determined that two play structures have reached the end of their useful life and will be removed by October 4, 2024. One of these play structures is located at Crossings at Catherine Creek, and the other is at The Reserve - 10th St NE.
These play structures were originally installed on city property as the neighborhoods were developed by contractors and HOAs were formed. They are estimated to be about 25-27 years old, are identical structures, and are made mostly of wood. Both have previously had the net climbers removed.
There are no current plans to replace the play structure at either of these locations.
An additional four play structures are expected to reach the end of their useful lives within the next two to five years. These play structures are located at Timberlake (Jake’s Place), Baker Vista, Greenwood Village 2 and The Reserve - 125th Ave NE.
