Park Rules and Policies

For an officer response to a non-emergency situation, where there is no immediate danger to life or property, a crime occurred earlier, there is no suspect information, illegal fireworks complaint, found pet or property, etc., call the Lake Stevens Police Department's non-emergency number 425-407-3999.
The full text of the legal code for parks can be found in Chapter 10 of the Lake Stevens Municipal Code.
The City of Lake Stevens welcomes you and hopes that you enjoy our parks. Please observe the following rules pursuant to LSMC Title 10:
- Skateboarding, bicycling or other recreational wheeled devices allowed on path only.
- Please supervise children at all times.
- Dogs and approved service animals must be kept on a leash no longer than 8 feet.
- Clean up pet waste.
- Disturbing or injuring animals and plants is prohibited.
- Removal or destruction of City property is prohibited.
- Tobacco, drugs, and alcohol prohibited.
- Do not use cooking devices on tables.
- All fireworks prohibited.
- Place any and all waste in designated receptacles; no household garbage or dumping allowed.
- Camping is prohibited.
- Unauthorized solicitation prohibited.
- Assemblies, events, amplified music or public address systems are prohibited unless a City permit has been issued.

General
1. Permittee shall comply with City of Lake Stevens Park rules and regulations. If at any time any or all members of the group have a conflict with any laws or park codes or rules, they will be asked to leave.
2. ALCOHOL IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
3. All trash must be placed in the receptacles provided adjacent to the shelter.
4. The area shall always be kept clean and left in the same condition as found.
5. No nails, staples, or tacks will be used in shelter structure, table wood, trees, signposts, or other fixtures.
6. No water balloons, straw bales, egg tosses, or any other litter-producing activities may occur in the park.
7. No open flames or fires are allowed in the park.
Equipment
8. Entertainment equipment such as inflatable play structures, dunk tanks, and sound systems are not allowed.
9. Pop up shade canopies 12’ x 12’ or smaller are permitted. They may not be staked to the ground and must be anchored with weights. No tents or larger canopies allowed.
10. Permittee may bring additional camp tables or card tables beyond those available in the shelter.
11. If park tables are moved, they must be moved back into the original location.
12. Personal propane grills are allowable if the permittee can move them into place manually by themselves. No personal charcoal grills are allowed.
13. Metal detectors are not allowed in any City Park.
14. Amplified sound and public address systems are not allowed. Music and sounds can be played if they cannot be heard more than 25 feet from the source.
BBQing/Cooking in Shelters
15. Charcoal may be lit in park-provided barbeque grills only.
16. BBQs must be positioned so as to not be a fire hazard.
17. No cooking devices are allowed on tabletops.
Shelter Reservations
18. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis via the City of Lake Stevens website.
19. RESERVATIONS ARE FOR SHELTER USE AND IMMEDIATE SURROUNDING AREA ONLY.
20. Reservations do not guarantee exclusive use of the park.
21. Reservations for parking spaces, additional picnic tables, or other park space are not available.
22. Reservations may be made one year in advance of the current calendar year.
Shelter Fees
23. All fees are due at the time the reservation is made; fees are listed on the City website.
24. A $25 fee will apply to any modifications made 14 days or more prior to the reservation date. Modifications are not permitted within 13 days of the reservation date.
25. A reservation modification fee of $10 will be charged for any changes made to the initial reservation.
26. A $25 cancellation fee will apply to cancellations made 14 days or more before the reservation date. Cancellations made 13 days or less prior to the reservation date will forfeit all monies.
Permits
28. A special event permit is required for gatherings of more than 50 people and/or activities that are advertised or not consider normal daily park use. Visit the Event Applications page for more information.
29. No person may perform services, or sell refreshments/merchandise in any park, without an active concession contract with the City of Lake Stevens.

- At the first sign of aggression, dogs must be leashed and removed immediately.
- If a dog bites a person or another dog, it must be reported to Lake Stevens Police Department by calling 911.
- Handlers are responsible for any injuries caused by dog(s) under their control.
- Excessive barking, noise, digging and destructive behavior are prohibited.
- All dog waste must be removed by handler.
- All dogs must be at least 6 months of age and up-to-date on vaccinations, including Bordetella and Rabies; animals with communicable diseases are prohibited.
- No shared water bowls.
- All city ordinances will be observed, including park rules and animal control rules.
- All dogs must be accompanied by a handler 12 years old or older.
- Dogs must be on a leash 8 feet long or shorter when traveling to and from the dog park.
- Dogs must be under owners' voice control when in the dog park.
- Female dogs in heat are prohibited.
- Professional dog trainers and other professionals may not use this facility to conduct business unless a concessionaire contract with the City of Lake Stevens has been executed.
- Food and drink in glass containers are prohibited.
The community is invited to enjoy our Lake Stevens trails. Please be courteous to neighbors and stay on the trail.
- Give audible signal when passing; pass on left.
- Yield to slower users and pedestrians.
- Speed limit is 15 MPH.
- All animals must be on a leash of no more than 8 ft in length.
- Horses are prohibited on all improved trails.
- Human powered vehicles and e-bikes/e-scooters allowed.
- No motorized or electric vehicles on trail.
- Camping is prohibited.
- Dispose of all waste and litter.
- Remote aircraft and drones prohibited by LSMC.
