Mayor's Office

  • On April 22, 2025, Mayor Gailey had the honor of joining Governor Ferguson as he signed SHB 1061 into law. Mayor Gailey authored the bill and was proud to see it championed by Rep. Sam Low. The new law allows cities, like Lake Stevens, to let homeowners park in front of their own driveways—as long as it doesn’t block sidewalks, other driveways, or the road. It’s a small change with a big impact, helping ease parking pressure in neighborhoods with limited space. It’s a locally driven solution to a problem communities across Washington are facing. Thank you to everyone who helped get this done!
  • At the April 15, 2025, city council meeting, Mayor Brett Gailey presented the State of the City address. He discussed the city’s 2024 accomplishments, including APWA accreditation and the opening of West Lake Park. He talked about our goals for 2025, including capital projects and the new city hall campus. Mayor Gailey also took time to thank our community partners whose contributions and collaborations help support our residents and quality of life. As the city continues to grow, we will strive to continue to make Lake Stevens a great place for our residents to live, work, and play. This event was open to the public and live streamed through the city's YouTube.
