[ARCHIVED] Additional Information Regarding Remote Council Meeting

The Mayor of the City of Lake Stevens issued a Proclamation declaring an emergency due to the coronavirus on March 5, 2020.  The City Council ratified the Proclamation at March 10, 2020 meeting.  Also at the March 10th meeting City Council adopted Resolution 2020-06 allowing for remote participation of Councilmembers at meetings to allow for the orderly conduct of city business.  Since March 10th Governor Jay Inslee and the Snohomish Health District have issued emergency mandatory measures and recommendations to help reduce the spread of this virus.

In the interest of the safety and welfare of our employees and the community, the Lake Stevens City Council is holding City Council meetings remotely beginning with the March 24, 2020 meeting.  It is anticipated meetings will be held remotely through the end of April.  Remote meetings may be extended dependent on the evolving coronavirus emergency.

The public is encouraged to access and listen to the meeting remotely as follows:

Digital Access:  Join Meeting

telephone number:  1-669-900-6833, Meeting ID #399-935-212.

Alternatively the public may attend and listen to the meeting at 1812 Main Street,

Lake Stevens, Washington.  The City will make the audio available to any public in attendance

using speaker amplification from the front of City Hall.  All emergency protocols required by

Governor Inslee and the Snohomish Health District will be enforced.

The public will not be permitted to enter City Hall.

Meeting remotely does not provide the public an opportunity for in-person public comment.  The public can still contact City Council and staff members by email.  Please direct public comment emails to deputyclerk@lakestevenswa.gov.  Public comment emails should be limited to 350 words.  All public comments will be provided to Councilmembers and appropriate staff and made part of the meeting record.

Because the Council is participating electronically and public comment is not being provided at these remote meetings the Council will need to suspend the Council Rules of Procedure and not include Public Comment at today’s regularly scheduled City Council meeting.

The public may access remotely using these tools:
