[ARCHIVED] Vaccine Distribution Briefing

COVID vaccines Snohomish HD

It is important for our community to keep up with the public health measures like masking, physical distancing, and staying home if they feel ill, even as more people receive the COVID vaccine.  It will take time to vaccinate everyone who is eligible and want to be vaccinated.

Do you have COVID vaccination questions? The Snohomish Health District held a recent briefing and are answering a few questions asked by the public:

How do I get an appointment for a COVID vaccination?

At this time, all the drive-thru sites in Snohomish County are fully booked. We aren’t able to open more appointments until we know what the supply looks like for the coming days. It’s hard to project out until we have more predictable vaccine supplies coming through.

Appointments will be added as available. Please continue to monitor theses websites every couple of days:

Please also contact your healthcare provider, clinic or local pharmacy if you are eligible. Unfortunately, it may take some time before you are able to get an appointment.

What is "multigenerational household for Phase 1b1"?

There are two categories of people who are eligible under the multigenerational household definition:

1.  People who are over the age of 50 AND are not able to live independently who either:

            a.    are receiving long-term care from a paid or unpaid caregiver, or

            b.    are living with someone who works outside the home

2.  People who are over the age of 50 AND are living with and caring for a grandchild

No one under age 50 is eligible, and no one over age 50 caring for a partner, friend, or child (exception - grandchild) is eligible.

How do I find out if I am eligible for the vaccine?

First, we encourage you to contact your regular healthcare provider, clinic or pharmacy to see if they are offering COVID vaccination.

If they are not offering vaccination at this time, you can find information on other providers in Snohomish County at There also are several drive-thru vaccination sites in Snohomish County. These sites are by appointment only, and are for people who are eligible in the current phase for vaccination.

Step 1: If you are not sure if you are eligible, answer the questions at to find out which phase you are in.

Step 2: If you are eligible, go to Scroll down a bit until you see the map. Directly above the map is a section that says “Register” that includes the registration links for the vaccination sites.

Step 3: Click the link for the site you would like to register for and answer the questions.

If appointments are available, you will be able to book a date and time. If you are unable to book a date and time, it is likely because appointments have filled. More appointments will be added when vaccine doses are available, so please check back every couple of days at that webpage.

What if I can’t navigate the webpage or I am asking for someone without internet access?

First, we encourage you to contact your regular healthcare provider, clinic or pharmacy to see if they are offering COVID vaccination.

If they are not offering vaccination at this time and you do not have the ability to register online for an appointment at one of the drive-thru vaccination sites, you can call 425-339-5278 to reach the COVID-19 call center for Snohomish County. This is currently staffed from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Please be patient, as we have been receiving a high volume of calls and emails regarding the COVID vaccine.

How do I get my second dose once I received my first dose from a private healthcare provider or clinic?

It is important to get your second dose of the same vaccine brand. Please contact the provider who administered your first dose about second dose follow-up.

How do I get my second dose once I received my first dose from the Monroe vaccination site or another Taskforce site? They did not schedule the second dose.

As you get closer to the date for your second dose, you can register for an appointment at one of our drive-thru sites. The registration links for the vaccination sites will continue to be provided and updated as needed at

You can also contact your regular healthcare provider, clinic or pharmacy about vaccination options. Save your card with the date you are due for your second dose so you can provide it, if needed. Please ensure the vaccine provider is giving the same brand of vaccine that you originally received. All Snohomish County Vaccine Taskforce sites are giving the Moderna vaccine at this time.

How do I volunteer to help with COVID vaccinations?

Those interested in volunteering to help with the COVID response can sign up through the Snohomish County Medical Reserve Corps at

Can people get “extra” doses at drive-thru sites?

The sites operated by the Snohomish County Vaccine Taskforce are by-appointment-only and vaccine doses are reserved for those appointments, which have been booking up completely.

Vaccine supply is still limited, and doses do not go to waste at our sites. We do not have a steady supply of “extra” doses to administer at the end of the day, and we are currently asking that people do not come to the sites without an appointment.
