[ARCHIVED] It's Candidate Filing Week May 17 -21 for the 2021 Ballot

Candidate filing began today at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 17 for the 2021 ballot.  178 offices are available for filing including four Lake Stevens City Council positions open and two Lake Stevens School District positions open.    A complete list of offices up for election can be found at

Candidates may file online at starting now until 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 21.  In-person filing is available at the Snohomish County Auditor’s Office May 17 through May 21 during the business hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

The Snohomish County Auditor’s Office is located on the first floor of the Administration West Building at 3000 Rockefeller Avenue in Everett. While Snohomish County Elections will be open during filing week, access to other departments and offices will remain limited due to the COVID-19 public health emergency.  Check the Snohomish County website at for the availability of services. 

To file for office, an individual must be a registered voter.  Positions may have additional requirements such as being a registered voter within the district, residency within the city or town of at least one year, a minimum age, or a filing fee.  Requirements for each position can be found in the 2021 Candidate Guide posted at

Each candidate will provide the following at the time of filing:

  • Name (as listed in the voter registration records)
  • Date of birth
  • Email address 
  • Filing fee (if applicable)
