State Pension

Regular employees of the City are members of the Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS).  Police Officers are members of the Law Enforcement Officers' and Fire Fighters (LEOFF) Retirement System.   

Social Security

All employees participate in the Social Security system.

Deferred Compensation Plans & City Matching

The City matches employees contribution up to 1% of their base rate of pay*.

Employees have three options when participating in 457 Deferred Compensation plans:

• Washington State Deferred Compensation
• Nationwide Retirement Solutions
• ICMA-RC

All plans offer pre-taxable benefits and a variety of investment opportunities.
